"History's verdict is all we have left.  And when tomorrow calls today into account, some of us want to say we stood up.  We called out.  We were not silent."

Guys, I am proud and humbled to announce that my blog post, "Maybe It's Time," http://www.huffingtonpost.com/deanie-mills/maybe-its-time_b_56301.html has been selected by Huffingtonpost.com as one of their inaugural blog posts to launch their powerhouse new page, "Off the Bus," which garners "citizen journalists" to help cover the '08 presidential campaign.  http://www.huffingtonpost.com/off-the-bus

"Off the Bus" is a feature that was begun by Huffingtonpost.com to counter the infuriating tendency of campaign press corps--who ride along on a bus or plane with a given candidate--to recycle the same tired old items that they find fascinating but which most of the American people could not care less about.  We have real concerns that so often get covered up with drek like $400 haircuts.  That should have been maybe a one-day story, tops.  Instead, it made the New York Times op-ed pages for weeks on end, while in the meantime, people are losing their homes because they can't pay their medical expenses even WITH insurance.  Meanwhile, there is a war on that this president refuses to end.  Meanwhile...well, you get the idea.

To be invited to participate in this new feature of Huffingtonpost.com is a real honor for me, and I was unbelievably thrilled when my post, "Maybe It's Time," was chosen as a featured selection on their inaugural page.

Also, if you are burning with curiosity--burning, I say!--to put a face with the names you've read about on Blue Inkblots, I encourage you to visit my page on MySpace.com:  http://myspace.com/deaniemills and click on "Pics" and "Family and Friends" photo album.  It's chock-full of Aggies, Marines, war-protesters, Bears, and me, digging up a body.  (true)

In the next couple of weeks, I will be setting up my own website, at this domain name, through godaddy.com, and Blue Inkblots will still be here, at this same address, only better.

In the meantime, check out the cool graphics logo sent to me by my New Favorite Nephew, Andrew Re, who designed it just for fun and made his aunt very happy.

Come see me over at Huffingtonpost.com.  Let's see if, together, we can change the world, one vote at a time.
