"History's verdict is all we have left.  And when tomorrow calls today into account, some of us want to say we stood up.  We called out.  We were not silent."

Guys, while everybody else is falling asleep in front of the TV football game post-turkey, you gotta check out Jon Soltz's amazing piece over at Huffingtonpost.com: How to Make a Chickenhawk.  Soltz, you may recall, is an Iraq vet and founding member of VoteVets.org, an organization that recruits and supports veterans in their runs for Congress on the Democratic ticket.  He is an outspoken proponent of ending the war in Iraq, and recently challenged Rush Limbaugh to have Soltz on his show after Limbaugh claimed that veterans who oppose Bush's policy on the war were "phony vets."

Limbaugh, ever the chickenhawk, didn't take him up on it.

You guys have a blessed holiday with family and friends, and don't forget to offer up a prayer for those families who have what New York Times columnist Bob Herbert referred to as "the awful empty chair at the table" while their loved ones are in danger very far away.  Fight for every Democratic candidate you can this year; the more we get into Congress, the Senate, and the White House, the quicker we will end this tragic travesty and bring our men and women home.
